This month Continental Lensa celebrates 30 years in the broadcasting market. The company, originally named LENSA — an acronym for National Electronic Laboratories, Services and Consulting — was founded in 1987 with just three engineers, a secretary and a handful of electronic and metal technicians.
From those early days in Santiago's Independencia neighborhood, the company has grown to become Latin America's leading manufacturer of digital AM transmitters, with installations in more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Over these three decades, Continental Lensa has developed its own proprietary technology, obtained ISO 9001-2000 certification, and became the only Latin American company licensed by iBiquity Digital Corporation to produce HD Radio®-compatible transmitters.
